After starting the season in 5th position, we had dropped off to 17th position come Monday evening. Dan sacrificed his sleep last week, to awake at 6:30 to get a challenge in, and we hit up the Amoured Deployed Personel with a variety of Armour maps. The stage was then set, for an intense battle for the Suez Canal, on the coast of Egypt.
We lined up first as the European Union, ready to repel the PAC from any attemps to attack. With both our walker pilots MIA, BlackGI stepped up to replace them, Vader grabbed his tank keys and new addition to the armour squad, Dantheeeman, paid his deposit bond, and fired up the 2nd A8 Tiger. Dr Nick fired up the mobile FAV, joined by Dogrot and new recruit Staz88, whilst Mulla ran the 2nd Jeep thinking it was Randie Racer Time. As per usual, Slash repositioned himself in his butt-grooves in his commander chair.
Round 1 begins and we secure our side on the canal, waiting for ADP's push. With their two jeeps doing time trials under the bridge, we held back knowing what might happen. Then, a rogue tank shell, combined with a nice emp/orb combination, saw an ADP tank go down. That was it, time to push across the river. With Dan securing the West side, we sent 2 jeeps a tank and walker across to put some pressure on. With the loss of a few tickets we had put the pressure on their main. However, ADP had snuck a jeep around to our Main, but had left it too late as our downed armour was already filled by MERCS. Whilst the commotion was happening at main, we dumped a full squad onto their main, securing not only the main, but also a T-39 Bogatyr. We then proceeded to lockdown ADP into Refugee Camp and take the round out 77-0. Scorecard here
Round 2 began hastily, and we knew we were in for a tough battle. ADP wanted blood, and we saw that from the word GO. Their jeeps were more agressive charging across the river, and at many times we were on the back foot a lot. At one stage we lost our main and Outer Bridge lock, having only one flag - but a fast moving jeep with a ghosted squad, got back to Trash and secured it up - with our armour spawning not long after we managed to push up, and hold a three flag bleed on ADP to get them below the 77 margin, and secure the win. However, we never gave in, with 5 mins still on the clock, we wanted to inflict more pain and managed to end the 2nd round, the same was as the first. 61 - 24 the final margin. Scorecard here
Overall it was a hectic scrim, Well Done to ADP for putting up such a fight. We would be happy to prac with them anyday - our 3 matches vs them have been intense. Some great work and communication from the Armour Squad to attack squad saw many more co-ordinated pushes, and although it got a bit randie sometimes, well done lads on the win. |
